We've Got History

Habitat for Humanity International was founded in Americus, GA in 1976, Habitat for Humanity has helped build, renovate and repair more than one million homes for more than five million people around the world.

Since 1976, Habitat affiliates in Georgia worked with approximately 7,466 Georgia families to obtain sustainable, affordable homeownership. These affiliates have generated a combined economic impact of over $2,900,000,000 in construction activity and over $480,000 in sales tax revenue through our ReStore brand retail stores that provide families, and the larger community, with discounted items for home repair and furnishing.

Habitat for Humanity of Thomasville, Thomas County is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seek to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities, and hope. We are dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating, and preserving homes. Habitat for Humanity advocates for fair and just housing policies and also provides training and access to resources to help families improve their living conditions.
